Earlier this month Mall Silks shipped out numerous custom hedges and artificial plants that were used to decorate the new United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. The design phase of the project began last year when a representative from an architectural firm contacted Mall Silks to provide a design for the built-in planters that would be used in the space. The main features of the installation were the built in planters on the first and second floors of the building. The planters were used as space dividers in the waiting areas of the hospital.  In addition to supplying custom artificial hedges and artificial plants for the large planters, Mall Silks supplied 44 containerized artificial plants as accents in other areas of the hospital.  The custom hedges for the project were made using Mall Silks’ artificial Shady Lady Olive foliage.  This foliage made a very dense but not structured hedge.  There were multiple Bamboo, False Aralia, Ming Aralia, and Dracaena Marginata bushes made on natural wood for the project as well.  For filler and a little added color, pothos vine and bromeliads were used.  All materials were either built with IFR (inherently fire retardant) foliage, or the foliage was dipped in a fire retardant chemical to flame retard all products used on the project. 

All materials were ready and were shipped on schedule to the hospital. The installation took a total of four days to complete. The client is very satisfied and the project was a success.
