The end of last year, Mall Silks completed a large project for interiorscaper Plant Aesthetics of Boardman, Ohio. The project involved the manufacturing of 5'–14' tall natural and synthetic bamboo products for the Millcreek Mall in Erie, PA. This project was custom designed by Plant Aesthetics who worked closely with the mall. The specific containers picked out for the project were very tall so the foliage had to start at a specific height. Plant Aesthetics visited the Mall Silks facility to approve the design and to ensure a complete and accurate project (we love to have visitors). The project took approximately 220 man hours and included approximately 500’ of our synthetic (PVC) bamboo product in different diameters. There were over 2,000 individual bamboo branches (IFR – Inherently fire retardant – due to the fact is was being installed in a commercial setting) used along with specific tree tops to complete the look (that’s over 100,000 leaves!).
